Halabos na Tahong Recipe

Perfect for the cold season coming, where the temperature is becoming low we all deserve a hot delicious dish to enjoy.

If you are searching for a soups or stews for the dinner meal and tired of the same-old nilaga, arroz caldo and other dish you usually cook. You should give those recipe a break and try this halabos na tahong or sinabawang tahong.

With just a few ingredients and a refreshing ginger-based broth, this tinola-style mussel soup is great to enjoy year round.

Halabos na Tahong Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 kilo tahong, cleaned
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 1 thumb-size ginger
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 red onion, sliced
  • salt to taste
  • 1 cup water
Instructions
  1. In a pot, saute ginger, garlic and onion in hot oil.
  2. Then add the tahong and salt.
  3. Add water and cook until all the mussels open.
  4. Serve hot with rice.
